Pass On the Love
Tonight was one of those nights.
You know...the kind of night where you're not quite sure what's going to happen next, and you wonder exactly how you'll get from point A to point B. Back in the day, that was a friend's bachelor party in Las Vegas (a trip that will remain there). But tonight, it was a night in which the power of love (cue up some Huey Lewis circa 1985) - God's love - overwhelmed me.
I think it is best summed in a song I used to sing in youth group 20-something years ago.
It only takes a spark to get a fire going,Tonight, He reminded me and my wife the power of His love for us. We were broken before Him at the foot of the cross tonight; moments later He restored us to New Life.
And soon all those around can warm up in its glowing;
That's how it is with God's Love,
Once you've experienced it,
Your spread the love to everyone
You want to pass it on.
What a wonderous time is spring,
When all the tress are budding
The birds begin to sing, the flowers start their blooming;
That's how it is with God's love,
Once you've experienced it.
You want to sing, it's fresh like spring,
You want to pass it on.
I wish for you my friend
This happiness that I've found;
You can depend on God
It matters not where you're bound,
I'll shout it from the mountain top - PRAISE GOD!
I want the world to know
The Lord of love has come to me
I want to pass it on.
Pass On His Love. Pass It On.

I remember that song! In fact, I quoted from it when my synod candidacy committee was interviewing me this month. It's got something special in there.
Yeah, Ben, it was definitely a favorite of our youth group back in the mid-80s. There was something special about singing it with a couple of guitars around a campfire at the beach...
As I read that song, I pictured the 80's Andy from the picture you posted a while back singing it in front of Simon, Paula, and Randy. And, you made it through to Hollywood!!!
Just kidding bro, that was a great song though and I'm glad to be back! Thanks for spreading the word. Oh yeah, Bonds will do it Saturday night!!!
Donny, that image ain't too far from the truth...
