Prayer Request Friday!
It's been a long week, you're tired, I'm tired, and we all need that spiritual jolt (or recovery, as the case may be) this coming weekend.
For me, please pray for healing in my right eye - I suffered a tiny tear on my eye, likely due to removal of a dry contact lens, so my right eye looks about redder than Santa's suit. Yes, I'm on an antibiotic eye drop for the next several days while the eye heals, and no, I haven't lost any vision...I just get to go back to being "four eyes" for awhile.
What prayer requests are out there?

I will be defending my dissertation and completing my doctoral work sometime over the next 8 weeks. The date is coordinated by my lead professor. Please pray for my preparation.
I have written some things on healing, as this is more of a reality in my life lately, over at my humble blog, if you care to stop by....
My boss is going through a rough time and struggling financially. I'd ask that you pray for her and for me - that we can keep going and fight for our clients' rights.
Praying for your eye right now. I won't tell anyone that you have pinkeye or anything...
Pray for Will's arm and healing. the cast comes off in two weeks. Also, remember my pastor. He's really going through a tough time right now (spritual warfare).
Please pray for my friend Jake. He is a struggling meth addict who has left the rehabilitation program at The Union Gospel Mission to run from the consequences of the choices in his past. Jake knows the Lord but is running from everything. He has a court date in Sept. that will require him to return to prison/jail to serve some time (how much is still to be determined). Because he knows what is coming he is choosing to continue to run rather than face the consequences head-on. At this point in Jake's life he has no other coping mechanisms but meth - he is in great emotional pain and is nearing the end of himself. Please join me in praying that Jake would allow the Lord into these painful areas of his past so He can do His work to restore Jake. Pray that Jake would ask for help sooner, rather than later, so he can continue to fight for his recovery with the Lord. Also, pray that God would continue to ordain Jake's steps and when he returns to jail/prison that God would have divine appointments in pace to continue to minister to him. I've been praying for his future cell mates and the prison ministries that may be available to him -- my prayer is that God's mercy and love would continue to overflow towards Jake, that He would have mercy and not allow his heart to harden towards the Holy Spirit. Jake is running, but I am confident that Jake will eventually run straight into His loving arms. Thank you.
Peter & Heather - my prayers are with you - definitely some struggles there.
Gabrielle - I'll make a point to swing by and check out those thoughts soon...
Donny - indeed, we'll be praying for Will's arm and your pastor as well.
Dan - thanks for sharing Jake's story - I know you've been filling me in separately via email, but I appreciate this update. I'll be praying for him, and for your continued patience and strength.
All - thanks for your openness and honesty. It isn't always easy, that's for sure, so I'm glad that we're all able to share with each other and know that as an online community we lift each other up!
I started talking to you over at my blog, but i came back here. My brother had the same thing happen to him. He tore his eye due to taking out a contact. I will pray for you.
Oops. I have prayer requests, and please don't get sick of my second hand Scandinavian sweater from a thrift shop as seen in photo. My job requires that I have extra love for co-workers and administration, in face of what is not so godly. There is a lady at my job who needs love but is hard to love - an African American with a bad attitude, and I have to be supervisor over her - not liking it.
Oops! I guess the photo doesn't even appear here. Just an aside - Andy, don't forget to check out two posts just within July: A Miracle of Healing and My Communion Prayer, sharing about getting healed using communion. Could be useful.
Gabrielle, we'll be praying for your employee. I will be by to read your posts soon.
And thanks for the prayers - my eye is doing much better - the redness has dissipated and I have a follow up with the doc on Monday!
I was attracted to this sight because you labelled it 'a mile from the beach'. I was going to share with you that I used to live 1 mile from the beach--actually 2X's in my life--Once in Santa Barbara, CA and once in Pacifica, CA.
Upon reading your web page I have found out that is currently where you are. Small world. My family and I have since left CA and are currently in NM--hate the brown and miss the ocean but things will soon change.
I didn't grow up near the ocean but I really miss it. I used to take the kids to Fort Funston to watch the hang gliders every day.
I suspect your eye is feeling better already as it is one of the organs in the human body that heals the fastest.
You and your eye are in my thoughts and prayers.
Have a scrumdillyumptious day :)
Thanks for coming by, Angeleyes Blue. Always glad to hear from a fellow Pacifican, current or former or otherwise!
My family and I do enjoy living by the Pacific, walking or riding our bikes down to the beach.
My eye is doing much better, thanks! Got a good report from the Doc today!
Come on by again soon...
